Overview
CSP's
Charter Start initiative is an effort to increase the number of
high-performing charter schools in the urban core of the Twin Cities.
Through CSP Charter Start, the CSP team works with charter leaders and
emerging civic groups to start new charter schools and replicate highly
successful schools – both home-grown Minnesota models and national
models. Each year, CSP invites a select group of pre-operational charter
schools that demonstrate high potential to serve at-risk students in
the Twin Cities to participate in this rigorous multi-year iniative.
The character of our Charter Start work
with these emerging schools varies according to their needs. CSP will
work with each Charter Start school in close partnership, providing
technical support, consultation about academic, assessment and human
resource frameworks, and financial oversight. Perhaps most important,
CSP assumes the role of a trusted ally, offering ongoing counseling
about the diverse political, practical and human challenges that
confront every nascent charter group during their pre-operational
journey to opening.
