St. Paul Conservatory for the Performing Arts
OverviewFounded
in 2005 with assistance from the Mayor’s office and a groundswell of Saint Paul
civic groups, Terry Tofte, a former district superintendent, launched The Saint
Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists (SPCPA), a public charter high
school. The school’s mission is to
provide a world-class professionally guided academic and artistic environment
to train aspiring pre-professional performing artists in the areas of
instrument and vocal music, theater and dance.
With
strong leadership, the program has rapidly grown and developed in its first
years and today the school is at full capacity.
Graduates from the program are being accepted into some of the nation’s
top music, theater and dance university programs.
