The CSP Fellowship

The CSP Fellowship is designed to create a critical mass of high-performing charter schools in the urban core of the Twin Cities to put the charter school movement and public education in the state on a new path toward excellence for all students. It is a selective, two-year program designed to prepare talented and passionate individuals to open a new high-performing, achievement-gap closing urban charter schools. Fellows will receive national caliber education and training from Charter School Partners, community partners, and school leader mentors from some of Minnesota's most effective charter schools.

The CSP Fellowship is experiential and aligned to the emerging best-practices of charter school incubation, a high-potential educational reform strategy profiled in Better Choices, a policy brief prepared by Public Impact and the Fordham Institute. The CSP Fellowship is characterized by rigorous internal preparation at CSP, a unique site-based residency at a local high-performing charter schools, and focused travel to national best-practice charter schools around the country.

We believe that a multi-faceted approach to charter school leader training that incorporates academic coursework, programmatic support, and experiential learning in authentic school environments will help us prepare the next generation of charter school leaders, the ones who will deliver the high-quality educations every child deserves, no matter their race, socio-economic status or zip code.
