The CSP Fellowship selection model begins with a written application that invites applicants to reflect on their personal experiences and the ways they predict their ability to start a high-performing charter school.
Selected finalist candidates will progress to an interview event. This unique and dynamic interview event is hosted by the team at CSP in collaboration with the local charter school leaders who will be hosting our Fellow residencies.

March 19: Online applications due to Charter School Partners
March 26: CSP Fellowship finalists notified of status
April 14 or 21: Interview Events at Charter School Partners in Minneapolis
April 27: Fellowship recipients notified of admission decisions
July 1: Fellows cadre begins fellowship program Candidates are encouraged to be in touch with CSP Fellowship Director Katie Barrett Kramer (kbkramer@charterschoolpartners.org) at any point during the application process with concerns or questions.
CSP Fellowship Application Questions 2012 For the 2012 CSP Fellowship application cycle, candidates will be asked to prepare responses to the following prompts. Because the application is online and work cannot be saved within that format, candidates are urged to consider and write their answers to the prompts in a word documents and Power Point documents in advance of completing the application. Please name your file in the following format: Last_First_Resume.doc (or ".pdf") For example: Jones_Lucy_Resume.doc Personal StatementPlease submit a personal statement that describes why you are applying to the Charter School Partners Fellowship. Explain how your values, beliefs, skills, personal experiences, and professional successes- particularly classroom successes that can be described with data- predict your ability to open a charter school in the Twin Cities that is capable of closing the achievement gap and delivering a high-quality education to all of its students. Fellow School Powerpoint ProposalPlease create and submit a PowerPoint presentation that outlines your proposal to design, nurture, and open a high-performing charter school in the urban core of the Twin Cities. Your PowerPoint should address, at least, the following facets of charter school design:
- Need
- Mission and Vision
- Educational Philosophy
- Student Achievement Accountability Goals
- School Culture
- Contribution of School to the Twin Cities’ Education Reform Movement
Community StatementPlease prepare and submit a brief written statement to the Twin Cities community about the school you will create during your CSP Fellowship. Make a compelling argument for the need and importance of the new, high-performing charter school you propose to build in the urban core. Explain what your school will offer to the community and what role it will play in improving public education in the region. Finally, persuade your audience that you are the right school leader to help your school accomplish the goals you set for it. |
